Gapuwiyak Youth Sport and Employment Expo

Gapuwiyak-ExpoRegion C was a proud contributor to this year’s Gapuwiyak Youth Sport and Employment Expo. The Expo was part of Job Vision Day 2011 organised by Youth Sport & Rec, East Arnhem Shire Council and Youth Works NT and was attended by more than 300 school and community members

Region C Plumber Thomas Ingamells and Housing Maintenance Manager Donald Dodd (Carpenter) invited Indigenous students to have a hands-on experience of each trade via an interactive plumbing display and the chance to learn easy carpentry jobs such as securing a door hinge. Our Indigenous Trade Assistants Norman and Michael also took part in the demonstrations and gave the students some tips to using basic carpentry and plumbing tools.
